Mainstream Media Is Sinking… FAST!
Who hasn’t had enough of the obvious biases in the media? Not just the main stream media news outlets, but also the social media platforms, network TV and the music industry pushing their agenda and narratives onto their viewers and listeners. By “their agenda and narratives” I am referring to their… ADVERTISERS!
It’s kind of an open secret that network television has had a massive drop in viewership post “Trump-era”. Estimates are as high as an 80+% drop for some networks. If you factor in the rise of alternative media (i.e. streaming services, podcasts, YouTube, Rumble, etc.), it becomes obvious why the media attacks someone like Joe Rogan.
Joe Rogan, for those of you that don’t know, is a standup comedian, actor, MMA commentator, über jock, and of course, host of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “Why is this relevant?” you ask. The fact that the Joe Rogan Experience has an average of 11 million downloads per episode, and CNN’s prime time shows average 1 (one) million views.
I was wondering why the extreme left-leaning MSM (main stream media) would attack what is essentially one of their own, as Joe Rogan is a self-described liberal. The answer presented itself once you see the viewership numbers, not to mention the fact that Joe Rogan is indiscriminate with who he has on his podcast. Guests that include highly accredited doctors that counter the MSM narrative of pro-vaccination, notably Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Robert Malone.
Now, back to the dumpster fire that is the MSM news networks. How do you keep the lights on as a media network with dropping viewership? By selling advertising. Primarily, pharmaceutical companies buy this ad time and sponsor time slots. Here is an example. In my estimation, the MSM currently has two problems now.
The majority of their viewers no longer finds them trustworthy, thus leaving them for someone else (think jilted lover).
The advertisers are going to pressure the news outlets that they sponsor to NOT cover stories that portray them (the advertisers) in a negative light.
Here is where the MSM ship sinks. By not covering all angles of a story, they show their bias. By condemning and attacking people that cover, or at least shed some light, on those stories, they lose further credibility. While their disillusioned viewership flocks to alternative forms of media.
So, do you see what I see? Why is there such a push to censor or cancel the likes of Joe Rogan? I believe it’s because he represents the larger threat that alternative media is proving to be. Censorship is happening at all levels of media, with the exception of podcasting and select video hosting services regardless of your opinions on what should or shouldn’t be said. As Americans, it is our right to say and believe whatever we want to, and with that power comes the responsibility to think for ourselves.
Whoever controls the news, controls the narrative. Alternative media is the iceberg, the MSM is the Titanic, and there is definitely a shortage of life boats.
